Was using desktop viewer along with superdepth3d to play Alan Wake 2 on my RTX 3060
and although I had to play without ray tracing and most settings on medium it ran fairly
    smoothly.

The other day I upgraded to a RTX 4070 and I straight up did not change a setting anywhere. Same drivers. Same settings in vorpx and superdepth3d. Literally just turned off the computer and swapped in the 4070 and turned it back on. Now, although the monitor fps seems to be buttery smooth I’m getting terrible lag/performance in my headset. After some trouble shooting, turning off superdepth3d, and testing out settings the culprit seems to be Vorpx Desktop Viewer.

It worked fine with my 3060 in Alan Wake 2, why am I suddenly getting MUCH WORSE performance with a 4070???

To be clear, starting desktop viewer and using it just for the desktop the performance is good but the minute a save loads up in Alan Wake 2 my performance goes to pot.

I tried to use Z3D solutions, not G3D. And still, there is no 3D effect (depth) at all. While SuperDepth3D works fairly well in Alan Wake 2. 🤷‍♂️

    Hey Ralph!

I have tried Alan Wake 2 with the vorpX 24.1.0, but there is no 3D effect. Tried without any profile and using Alan Wake profile, as suggested above – all the same, no 3D. Any suggestions on how to fix that?

P.S. SuperDepth3D works fine, but I want to try vorpX and compare which is better.

    Thanks!

Like the title says. I want to play some newer games in the next months, like Dying Light 2 and Alan Wake 2, and i tried to look up if they’re running in Z3D, the stereoscopic mode that i favor.

In the VorpX control panel i can find if a game has a profile, but not what mode it’s compatible with. But maybe i’m missing something? Is there a way to find out if a game supports Z3D or G3D?

How well is this profile working in Immersive Screen or Cinema Mode with Alan Wake 2?

If it’s not there yet, i’m gonna postpone buying the game.

It’s listed as one of the Supported Games.

I’m using the “Alan Wake Remastered (VR-Punk)” profile, and “vorpX version 23.1.0 BETA” recommended in this thread:

    Alan Wake Remastered

I had to use a hook to get it to work. I have the Borderless Window setting selected as well as the other recommended settings.

Is “Geometry 3d” supposed to be an available option? I only have “Immersive Screen Mode” or “Virtual Cinema Mode” but neither one of them is in 3d.

I figure I’m doing something wrong, I just don’t know what it is. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

This is a very important list ! If you can extend it in a thread of a upcoming official vorpx profile it will be a very important contribution. If we have some kind of compatibility list, many problems that are not related to vorpx can be solved or discussed for example on the nexus mods forum and not here in the vorpx board.

Ralf should have his hands free for new official profiles for CP77 Mod, Assassins Creed Mirage, Lords of Fallen and last but not least Alan Wake 2 !

But Starfield has a big problem, and that is the question what i should play this autumn first ? Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, or Baldurs Gate 3 or Starfield itself ? I expect that the other two games will earn ratings above 95% Points too, and we will get a triple released in few weeks after another we never seen before.

And what about the rest of the winter ? Alan Wake 2, Dragon Age Dreadwolf, Star Wars Outlaws, FF16, Ghost of Tsushima, Dying Light 2 2nd Story DLC, Stalker 2 ? And that are only my favorites, i expect that this season 2023/2024 will nearly 20-25 AAA Games released.

I would wish, that some of them were released in the last three poor and sad gaming years of Covid and the War, but ok i will forget that and shout it out loud: ” Paaaarty !”

A new profile with decent 3D is in the cloud section of the vorpx config app !

Prefer 16:10 Borderless Window – FOV Max – Graphics Low-Medium – Textures + Antialiasing High-Ultra – DLSS Quality – Motion Blur Off – Vsync Off

Yes, Dead Island 2 and Jedi Survivor are working.

I will upload Profiles for Assassins Creed Valhalla
and A Plague Tale: Requiem this week, too.

Alan Wake Remastered is also on my to do list.
